All Japan Championships 2007 in Osaka
For the 40th time the All Japan Championships took place in Osaka. The venue, which was again the beautiful New Archaic Hotel, convinced with its huge event hall that had a lot space for all the spectators and players.
The All Japan Championships belong to the most famous events in Asia and due to that fact the players’ field was, next to a few Europeans and Australians, full with Asian players. 128 Men and 68 Women took part to play for the coveted trophy. In the year before, Ouschan just past the title with a tight 7:6 defeat in the final.
With a walk over in the pocket Ouschan had her first Match against Japanese Otake Mayumi. Even though Ouschan had 2 tournaments right before the event she took control over the table and played good pool. After a while she could celebrate her first victory with a 7:4 score. In the second match against Xiaofong Fu from China, Ouschans level turned around and led to a very inaccurate game. Fu who scent the chance made great use of her opportunities and took the lead. Jasmin Ouschan wasn’t able to find back into her rhythm and had to go to the losers round with a painful 7:1 defeat. In the losers round she faced Mitsuoka from Japan. A little bit disappointed, Ouschan played a powerful game again and gave her opponent no chance. With a clear 7:1 victory Ouschan got one step closer to the final round. But the extreme level variations that Ouschan noticed in her game turned also the next match into a roller coaster ride. Ouschan who played I-Yun Su from Taiwan had fight through the racks again. Bit by bit the error rate increased and you could see the insecurity getting stronger and stronger. Ouschan tried to fight back but Su played too strong to give that match away. With a 7:4 defeat Ouschan got kicked out at an early stage.
„That I am disappointed about this result is not surprising I think. It was an amazing up and down all the time and I wasn’t able to find a formula in time. I will try to forget this event, because this is part of the game”, said Ouschan confident.
