The first Euro Tour of the year was held in Liberec/Czech Republic. This is also where the European Championships 2007 will take place. We played in the Babylon Hotel, an impressive complex with a swimming pool, bowling, playground for kids, playing machines and an own shopping street. The hotel was so huge, I don’t think anyone did not get lost once or twice. This year the IBP (International Billiard Promotion) changed a few things in the format of the Euro Tour. The top 32 in the Euro Tour Ranking are seeded and do not have to play until the third day of the tournament, which can be a big plus or a big disadvantage. Marlon Manalo made his Euro Tour debut look really good, and finished third after a few though matches. For me this Euro Tour was not very successful. After a walk-over in the first round I played Vettas Evangelos from Greece. We played on the TV table where all matches were broadcasted live on the “Bwin” homepage. After a clear defeat of 10:2 I was very lucky and got another walk-over. My second match on the next day was not very good either and so I got kicked out of the tournament way to early. The big surprise of the tournament was Trajdos Wojciech from Poland who won the Euro Tour with a great performance.
