IBP Euro Tour in Payerne/Switzerland

The penultimate Euro-Tour this year took place in Payerne, a small town in the French part of Switzerland. The tournament started for Ouschan at 9 o´clock in the morning on the first day. She had to play Phil Burford, a British junior who just crowned to the Junior 9 Ball European Champion. The match was played on the TV table which had as usual a few degrees more than the other tables and was therefore really fast to play. From the early beginning Ouschan managed to dominate the match against the visible nervous British. At the end of the match Ouschan made a few unnecessary mistakes but they didn´t change anything in the result. With a clear 9:4 victory Ouschan entered the next round. In the next match the Austrian faced Thomasz Kaplan from Polend who was also known for his good results at the Euro Tour. Without any hesitation Ouschan started strong and put pressure on Kaplan. Both players showed strong Billiard and ran out one game after another. But as Kaplan made his first bad mistakes Ouschan was there to use this chance to increase her lead. Ouschan played flawless and Kaplan waited for a mistake but to no avail. Jasmin Ouschan didn´t let loose for one second and managed to win 9:4 over the strong Polish .

„A really good start into the tournament so far. I am very happy with my performance and I hope I can hold this level.”

In the third match Jasmin Ouschan played Philipp Stojanovic from Croatia. Ouschan started the match in the same style as her matches before. Stojanovic seemed out of his rhythm and Ouschan used these chances to take a strong 6:1 lead. But all of a sudden Ouschan had a concentration problem as well and made a few position mistakes which led to missed balls. The Croatian saw the insecurity and started to come back. But even though every single game seemed to be amazingly difficult Ouschan fought her way through and finished the match successfully with a 9:6 score. In the qualifying match Jasmin Ouschan faced another junior but this time from Germany. It was Ramazan Dincer who just kicked Oliver Ortmann to the losers round. The match started balanced and both players used their chances. Dincer is known for his strong shot making ability and Ouschan soon realized that you shouldn´t leave him an open ball. In the middle of the match both players made a few mistakes but Ouschan stayed calm and focused which led eventually to a 9:7 victory and a spot in the final round.

„The match against Stojanovic was really tough after I started to make some mistakes. An easy ball is all of a sudden really difficult. With the qualifying match I am very happy. Dincer is a talented and young player who has a strong shot making ability. I was very calm throughout the whole match and could keep my concentration. I am very happy that I am in the final round and I hope it goes on like that.”

Jasmin Ouschans opponent in the final round was Angelo Millauro from Italy. Ouschan never played him before and so she couldn´t really prepare herself for that. The Austrian had again a very good start and managed to get through with her break. In the following 2 Games, Millauro missed 2 balls but had the luck that he left Ouschan nothing than a safety behind. Ouschan couldn´t do much with it and so the Italian took the lead. From that moment on the Italian played flawless billiard and gave Ouschan no chance. Jasmin Ouschan was out of the event by a 9:3 defeat.

„Very bad that I couldn´t do more with the two balls he missed at the beginning. I think that was the turning point in this match. After that he played really good and I didn´t have the luck at the break but that is part of the sport. But I still think that my result after the stressful and tough last months is really good and now I am looking forward to some weeks at home.”
