IBP Euro Tour Weert/Holland

The 5th stop of the IBP Euro Tour took place in Weert/Holland and again the players’ field was almost full. One problem the players had to deal with, especially at this Tour stop, was the extreme heat and humidity that built up during the day and couldn’t escape because of the building construction. But the common heat was outranged by the extreme light sources at the TV table. Even though, everybody had to adjust to these conditions. This time they had no seated players which led to a few interesting matches at the beginning of the tournament.

For Jasmin Ouschan the tournament began with the young Dutch player, Danny Wijnans. Ouschan started out very well and managed a rapid 6:2 lead. The match looked really secure but through a few unnecessary mistakes she brought the rookie back into the match. Totally out of the rhythm and obviously very disappointed in herself, Ouschan lost the match with a painful 8:10 score.

„I had the match fully under control until one mistake ripped me out of my concentration. All of a sudden nothing worked anymore and my opponent became stronger and stronger. I am very disappointed and I have to try now to find a way back in my concentration,” said Ouschan after her first match.

In the second match on this day, Ouschan faced Chris Parker from Great Britain. With a very solid performance Ouschan entered the next round with a 10:5 victory. Afterwards Ouschan had to play Das Serge from Belgium. Since they already played each other a few times, Ouschan was able to prepare accordingly. They played on the TV table with conditions similar to the sauna. Affected by a lot of ups and downs Ouschan managed to win with 10:6. In the next match she played the in Switzerland living Turkish guy Ayas Murat. In this match she didn’t only show good pool but flawless pool. With a few Run-Outs and good safeties, Ouschan controlled the match and didn’t give him many chances. With a clear 10:2 victory, Ouschan went on in the event.

„These matches were okay until the last one which I am really happy about. I had a very good feeling and was able to just let it flow. If I can tie up a little to that performance in my next match I will be very pleased,” said a happy Jasmin Ouschan.

In match Nr.5 Ouschan faced Marcel Martens from Holland. The match was balanced from the beginning even though Ouschan was always one game behind. An extremely important combination that Ouschan unfortunately missed gave the Dutch player the chance to increase his score and take an 8:4 lead. In spite of her battlesome ability, Ouschan couldn’t catch up the lead and lost 8:10.

“In the last match I did a few unnecessary mistakes again and when I look at the whole tournament I am not really happy with my performance. I have to forget this Euro Tour now and put all my focus on the next big upcoming event, the Midwest Classics, in the USA,” said Ouschan after the tournament.
