IPT Qualifier in Lampertheim/Germany

A lot of pool players and especially professional players have one common goal: a fix spot for the International Pool Tour (IPT).

I am also trying to qualify for it and my first qualifier was in Lampertheim/Germany.There were only 13 players but it was a very tough field with players like Thomas Engert, Joern Kaplan and Michael Schmidt from Germany, Rico Diks from Holland, Roman Hybler from the Czech Republik, Marco Tschudi from Switzerland and Kevin Uzzell from Great Britain.

In my first match I had a good start against Klaus Zobrekis from Germany and managed to win 10:7. My next match was a lot more exciting and tough because I played Thomas Engert. After a couple of ups and downs I won it with 10:9. I played my next match on a very solid level and was able to put a lot of pressure on the runner up of the 9 Ball European Championships Marco Tschudi. In the end the result was 10:7.The next match was already for a spot at the IPT in Reno/Nevada. I had a lot of problems with my concentration and gave away all my chances. He crushed me with 10:3. My last chance for a spot was again against Thomas Engert. He gained a quick lead and I tried to fight back into the match but it was too late. I lost 10:6 and finished 3rd. It was a good tournament even though it was so close but I will definately try it again in Oslo/NOR.
