After the historical 3rd place at the Straight Pool Men World Championship, Jasmin Ouschan and her Trainer used the chance to go to a WTA event. As a big Tennis fan the paths of the billiard queen and the WTA Tour have already crossed in Basel/SUI but there was no possibility to see the stars live. Since there were a few days between the World Championship and the next event there was no way around the Billie Jean King Tennis Center.
A really unbelievable event and not for nothing the worlds biggest annual recurring sporting event. Almost 700.000 tickets were sold and the Arthur Ashe Stadium, which fits 23.000 people, is really impressive and it must be an unique feeling for an athlete to do your job in this stadium. It was also amazing to see athletes like the Williams sisters, Jelena Jankovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick and Roger Federer, one of my idols, in action. Thanks also to the Austrian player Sybille Bammer and her Trainer who invited us to the quarterfinal match from Sybille. Unfortunately our cheering didnīt help her much, but it is still a great success to enter the quarterfinal at a Grand Slam event.
